Your new comic news is bloody excellent, but I'm surprised at how much i want to cry after your B&S news.

Favouritism, Lucy. He clearly prefers children to us. Hmf.

(Although I suppose actually being paid for entertaining people might just have something to do with it).

Oddly, Babs, your name came up only yesterday when New Malden was spotted on someone's blog wearing a B & S t-shirt.

No favoritism here - you are all welcome to buy yourselves as many copies of the DFC as you like. In fact get your friends to buy some too - I get a few pence from every copy sold!
[this is good]
Great stuff!
*breaks out in sobs*
Any chance that on the success of it they will give you enough money to give up the day job?
When they reach a certain number of weekly sales the per page rate will double, but I'd still be earning less than my day job. However it would be less hours, so maybe I'd be able to get other comic-related work to make up the difference ... I'm not sure how viable a plan that is though!
Good luck mate. The best thing in the world would indeed be if you eventually found yourself in a position to support yourself full-time by your art. You certainly have the talent and - as the above proves - the application required to achieve this, here's hoping big fat hairy mother luck is on your side too.

Now all I need to do is to continue the process of convincing my friends to give me a tithe of 5-10% of their income each so I can dedicate all my time to cheering them up / writing stupid stuff / not being at work... it's a slower than expected process.

Also, sorry I couldn't make comic convention. One of my friends had a baby and I was scheduled in for a Saturday afternoon baby-holding session. Babies eat doughnuts! Did you know that?
